Water Conditions:

FRESHWATER
Temperature: 72°F to 78°F (20°C to 25°C). 
pH: 7.0 to 8.0. 
Hardness: Medium to hard water is preferred. 
Filtration: A good filtration system with a sponge filter is recommended, especially if you plan to breed them. 
Diet:
Feeding Frequency: Feed 1-3 times per day, depending on the size/species. 
Food Variety: A mix of flake, powdered, and even some live or frozen foods can be given, says Aquarium Industries. 
Tank Setup:
Tank Size: A 20 liter tank is a good minimum. 
Substrate: A fine gravel substrate is a good choice. 
Decor: Include live plants for the tank's natural filtration.
